What is Global Firepower Index?
- Global Firepower (GFP) Index is unique display of data concerned with today’s world military powers.
- Based upon the GFP index over 106 worlds military powers are ranked.
- GFP index allows broad spectrum of comparisons concerning the relative military strength of nations.
- The ranking are strictly based on each nation’s potential conventional war-making capabilities across land, sea and air.
- Final ranking also incorporates values related to resources, finances and geography of individual nations.
- Nuclear capability of any country is not at all accounted, while deciding the ranks.
- These raking are based upon a formula in which 50 factors are compiled and measured against each nation.
- Final list is refined by adding bonuses and penalties. For ex, Bonuses- low oil consumption; Penalties- High oil consumption.
- Final GFP value is recognized as the Power Index which determines rankings of particular nation.
